FAQ
Do you travel for photoshoots?
Of course! I'm based in Newquay but can travel within a 30 mile radius with no extra charge. Anything further afield a travel/fuel cost can be agreed.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, upon booking a 50% non refundable deposit is required. This means your photo session date can be secured and we can look forward to counting down the days until your photo session! The remaining balance is due no later than 48 hours before your session.
What should we wear for our session?
Wear what makes you feel comfortable, confident, and truly yourselves — whether that’s highlighting your beautiful bump or simply capturing the connection between you and your loved ones. After booking, you’ll receive a style guide with tips and inspiration, and I’m always here to help with outfit choices. Most importantly, choose pieces that reflect your personal style and make you feel amazing in front of the camera.
How long does it take to get our photos?
After your session, you'll receive your beautifully edited photos within about three weeks. This timeframe ensures each image is carefully refined so that you get the best possible result. I’ll notify you as soon as your gallery is available for viewing!
What's the best age for a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best when your little one is 5-14 days old. During this time, babies are typically more flexible and sleepy, making it easier to capture those precious, curled-up poses. This window also allows your baby to be captured while they still have that fresh, newborn look.
When should I book my session?
Maternity sessions are ideally booked between 30 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, your bump is beautifully round and prominent, and you’re likely to still feel comfortable and have the energy to fully enjoy the experience.
Newborn sessions are ideally booked after your 12-week scan. This allows us to reserve a spot in my calendar around your due date. Once your baby arrives, we’ll confirm the exact session date — ideally within the first 5 to 14 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and most settled for those timeless, snuggly shots.
Family sessions are best booked at least 2–3 weeks in advance of your preferred date. Or as far in advance as you wish! This gives us plenty of time to chat about locations, your vision for the shoot, and any special details you’d like to include — so everything feels relaxed and thoughtfully planned.
What if the weather takes a turn?
Cornish weather definitely has a mind of its own — and I actually love working with its quirks! That said, I’d never expect you to shoot in truly miserable conditions. I keep my outdoor sessions flexible, avoid stacking bookings, and always leave room to reschedule if the weather isn’t playing nice. Your comfort and experience come first — rain or shine.
I’ve never done a photoshoot before… I’m a little nervous…
Go easy on yourself — feeling a little nervous in front of the camera is completely normal, especially if this is your first shoot! Most people feel a bit awkward at first (or a lot!), but that’s where I come in. I’ll gently guide you, give clear direction, and help you settle in quickly so you can just relax and enjoy the moment. And yes, you’ll absolutely have fun — I promise!
Can I meet with you before our photo session?
Of course! Included in your photo session is an optional coffee meet up or zoom call. We can get to know each other and discuss your plans, hopes and visions for your photo session. Feeling creative? Bring a mood board and let's bring those visions to life!
Are you insured?
Yes, absolutely — I have full public liability insurance in place. Your peace of mind is important to me, and I always take care to ensure every session is safe, professional, and fully covered.
